"Dave Public has been a long-time mainstay in the Providence underground as a member of grinding bands such as Suffering Bastard, Finished and the tropical electronic oddity Hand of Food. As a solo artist, he's been exploring a space positioned between raw noise aesthetics and sample-based electronic music. More Than This features an array of tape manipulation, digital warping, heavy sampling; beautiful sounds cultivated, wrecked and rebuilt into whippit-friendly compositions for a dynamic listening experience. Side A features 2 homespun recordings, one of stereo-heavy lo-fi tape recorder abuse and the other immersive crystalline new age drone. Side B contains the entirety of his gamut-running live set from the 2017 Savage Weekend festival in Chapel Hill, and serves as a nice representation of his overall sound."
